Submitting of Assessment Pieces

Essays and other written work should be prepared in
accordance with the guidelines laid down in the Faculty's
Guide to Written Communication [2008 Edition] (PDF).

According to Faculty rules, assignments received via fax, email or DX will not be accepted.

The Law Reception staff do not fax assignment questions or course materials. It is Faculty policy that the Law Reception staff do not print assignments. Students are reminded that the UNICARD service is available in the Library or on Level 1 outside CM.5B.01.06. to enable you to print your assignments.

Assessment pieces are to be submitted in the Assignments Box located in the Law Reception area on Level 3 of the Faculty of Law. Under no circumstances will assignments be handed back to students once they are submitted. Students are recommended to re-submit another copy of their assignment with relevant changes & a note to their lecturer.

Instructions on submitting assessment pieces:

  1. You must attach a UTS:LAW Assignment Cover Sheet (PDF)
    to the front of your assignment (hard copies are available at the Law Reception).
  2. Make sure you complete the whole form & sign the 'Acknowledgment of Original Work' section.
  3. Do not detach either half of the form. The bottom half is retained as proof of lodgement within the Law Reception Office.
  4. Do not submit assignments in plastic folders or covers.
  5. All assignments must be lodged through the Assignment Box on Level 3 before 6:00pm for receipt on that day. Law Reception staff will not falsify submission dates.

NB: The Law reception staff cannot distribute assignments, nor lecturers mark them if the necessary details are not fully completed on the form.
