Undergraduate Degree Graduation FAQ's

Am I eligible to graduate with honours?

To confirm your eligibility to graduate with Honours in the Bachelor of Laws you will need to refer to the honours rules.

If you have failed any subjects following the completion of 76040 Research Thesis, you must apply for a waiver of Honours Rule 2 (1)(c) in order to graduate with Honours. Applications for Spring 2008 graduations must be made in writing to Ian Dobinson, Director (Students) by 16 July 2008.

I am currently enrolled in a combined degree, what do I need to do to graduate from one degree prior to the other?

If you are currently enrolled in a combined degree and wish to graduate from the Bachelor of Laws degree prior to the other degree, you must apply for an Internal Course Transfer - Graduating.

You will be eligible to graduate with the Bachelor of Laws in Spring 2008 provided you have completed all Law core subjects, Law electives, 48 credit points of non-law subjects and either PLT or the additional Law electives by 16 July 2008.

How do I register for the ceremony?

Registration for the ceremony is not organised by the Faculty of Law. It is organised by the Governance Support Unit (GSU) of the University. GSU will advise you of the graduation ceremony registration procedure in August 2008.

NB. Graduate Certificate students do not attend a formal ceremony. The Testamurs will be mailed after all formal graduation ceremonies have concluded.
