Admission to legal practice in Australia

Admission to the Supreme Court of NSW to practise as a lawyer in New South Wales is based upon the successful completion of an:

• Accredited legal qualification

  The UTS: Law degrees approved for the purposes of admission to practise as a lawyer in Australia, are the:

  • Bachelor of Laws, and
  • an accredited course of practical legal training (PLT).

Once you have completed all the subjects in the practical legal training (PLT) program you are eligible to apply for admission with the NSW Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB).
