Community engagement

clear

Community engagement is defined as activities associated with service to the community, the professions and the academic community outside UTS and the Faculty of Law guided by an ethic of social justice.

Encouraging students to engage with the community and providing parameters within which meaningful contact can occur can be very useful for community groups. The work that students are already undertaking for assessment can be directed toward community needs. This is particularly important in areas where community groups are under-funded, under-resourced and/or feel disempowered.
