Adjunct Professors

Judge Ann Ainslie-Wallace
A Judge of the District Court of NSW. Teaching in the elective program and contributing to the Practical Legal Training Program, contributing her judicial experience in evidence, advocacy, forensic studies.

Mr Ian Bailey SC
High profile arbitration and constuction lawyer who has contributed to work of the faculty both as lecturer and adviser, particularly within the area of mediation and alternative dispute resolution.

John Brownie QC
A judge, teacher and writer, with particular expertise in the area of insurance law, equity and commercial law. He has served on Faculty Selection Committees.

Professor Ross Buckley
Teaching in the unique area of global finance and assisting in research mentoring and collaboration, and curriculum development.

Dr Christine Deane
Dr. Deane comes from the OECD in Paris, holds a PhD in the biosciences and a European Doctorate in Biotechnology. She has worked for the European Commission in Brussels and the Irish and Australian Governments.

Mr Barrie French
A judge, teacher and writer with relevant experience in industrial relations law, and a distinguished record in the legal profession.

The Hon David Levine RFD QC
Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of NSW. Areas of expertise in defamation law and a significant reputation for law reform and for his legal skills, particularly in the criminal jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.  Teaching in defamation law,  media law and criminal law. 

Mr Les McCrimmon
Australian Law Reform Commissioner. A high-profile expert in law reform in an area of relevance to practical legal training. Lecturing in evidence advocacy, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.

The Hon Andrew Rogers QC
Barrister and former Judge of the Supreme Court of NSW. Arbitrator, Mediator, Dispute Resolution Advisor, Legal Consultant. Formerly Chair of the External Faculty Advisory Committee (until September 2006).

Mr Ezekiel Solomon
Curently a Partner of Allens Arthur Robinson. Teaches pro bono, in the practical legal training program and also staff/student seminar program.

Dr Holger Sorenson
Currently a barrister practicing at the Sydney Bar in equity and revenue law. Part-time lecturer at UTS since 1990 in Taxation, often pro bono.

Professor Michael Tilbury
NSW Law Reform Commissioner.  Experience in law reform and high level legal research; serves on Selection Committees for senior appointments; advises on curriculum; some teaching - equity, remedies, law reform.

The Hon Murray Wilcox
Recently retired Judge of the Federal Court, has accepted an invitation to become and Adjunct Professor and will be discussing his role with the Dean.

Professor Julian Disney
Julian Disney is a well-known public policy researcher and commentator who will be engaged in a major project concerning tax and welfare.  Involvement in research and teaching in the areas of welfare policy, tax, and governance.

Dr Mitchell Landrigan
Mitchell Landrigan (BA LLB UNSW, SJD USyd), is a legal counsel at Telstra Corporation Limited and an accredited mediator.  He has published in the fields of restrictive trade practices law, competition policy, telecommunications regulation and client-lawyer privilege as well as lecturing in trade practices law, media law and telecommunications law.  Mitchell is currently doing part-time postgraduate research in Constitutional Law (implied freedom of political discourse) at UNSW. Visiting Associates

Mr Trevor Stevens
Senior Partner in the Trade Marks group of Davies Collison Cave and specialist in trade mark opposition proceedings. Solicitor and barrister of the Supreme Courts of Victoria and NSW. Lecturers in trade mark law in the Postgraduate program and contributes his time pro bono. Assisted with the Australasian IP Academics Conference at UTS 2006.

Ms Helen Kiel
Helen retired from the Faculty on 31 December 2006 but is happy to retain a link with us. Helen's background before becoming a senior lecturer at UTS was as a barrister specialising in health law. Helen is currently apointed to the NSW Medical Tribunal. She will assist in the teaching of specialised electives in coronial law, medical and forensic law and provide links with the Coroner's Office.
