Academic Profile
Professor Jill McKeough has written and taught primarily in intellectual property (copyright, designs, patents, trade marks, confidential information, biotechnology and indigenous cultural heritage) as well as torts, commercial law, legal system and legal history. Professor McKeough has extensive experience in faculty and university management roles. She is Deputy Chair of the Council of Australian Law Deans and a member of the Professional Standards Board for Patent Attorneys.
Professor McKeough is currently on the board of the Arts Law Centre of Australia and is a member of the Law Council of Australia's Intellectual Property Committee. Jill has served on the on the Copyright and Intellectual Property Committee of the Australian Vice-Chancellor's Committee, and thereafter the Standing Committee on Information Policy.
Professor McKeough was a member of the Intellectual Property & Competition Review Committee which reported to the Australian Government at the end of September 2000.
Current Research Activities
Investigator in the 'Unlocking IP' research project.
Supervising UTS:LAW PhD students writing in the areas of IP and competition law and the Economic Analysis of Copyright Law.
