Academic Profile

Judith Lancaster has cross-disciplinary qualifications in both Law and Nursing. She joined the Faculty in 1994, following earlier careers in health care practice as a medical public relations consultant and as a registered nurse.

Judith is currently undertaking PhD study at the UNSW Centre for Clinical Governance Research in Health on an APAI scholarship awarded in 2005 and teaching in the Faculty as a temporary part-time academic. Judith has served as Director, Cross-Disciplinary Programs, Faculty of Law 2004- 2006. She jointly co-ordinates and teaches the subject, Business Law & Ethics. Judith was awarded a UTS Excellence in Teaching Award (Individual category) 2001 and (Team category) 2002. In 2007, Judith was appointed Vice President Australia & New Zealand Service Region ooi Consortium for Teaching, Research, Learning and Development (U.S.A.), a non-profit professional academic global organization. She has served as Convenor for the ALTA Law in Non-Law Schools (2004) and the Law and Medicine (2005) Interest Groups. She has also been a member of committees/working parties reporting to the NSW Attorney General's Legal Profession Advisory Council reviewing 'conflict-of-interest' law and practice (2004) and strategies for communication skills development for legal practitioners (2005).
