Academic Profile

Bill Childs joined the Faculty as a full-time lecturer in 2000, having taught part-time since 1993.  He had previously employed as in-house counsel for Prime Television; as a Director of Broadcast Policy, Federation of Australian Commercial Television Stations; and as a consultant in the IP & IT practice group of Minter Ellison.

Bill teaches Communications Law and Intellectual Property Law, in the Faculty's undergraduate and postgraduate programs.  His extensive broadcasting industry experience brings an intensively practical approach to the teaching and learning of law. This has particular relevance to graduates' future employment, or practice.
