Academic Profile
Alpana Roy joined the UTS Law Faculty in 2006 with considerable teaching and research experience. Immediately prior to joining UTS, Alpana was employed as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law in the University of Sydney for a number of years. She is a graduate in Law from the University of Sydney, and has completed her doctorate in intellectual property law from that university. She also has a Masters degree in journalism from UTS.
Alpana has worked as a solicitor for a number of years in both the private and public spheres, and has practiced as a lawyer internationally. In Sydney, she has practiced as a solicitor for two large corporate law firms, and has also been employed as a government lawyer.
In 2001, she was selected by the Federal Government to advise the Attorney-General of Vanuatu on a range of legal matters as part of Australia's Legal Sector Strengthening Aid Program.
Alpana is currently an academic contributor to the Halsbury's Laws of Australia, CCH Australia, and the Oxford Australian Legal Dictionary.
