Professor Michael Fraser, AM is the Director of the Communications Law Centre (CLC), University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia’s independent, non-profit, public interest centre specialising in communications, media and online law and policy. Professor Fraser is influential in changing policy and practice in Australia and internationally to develop copyright and commerce for creators and the content industries, as well as media and communications policy in the public interest. He established and was CEO for not-for-profit copyright management company Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) for twenty one years, attracting over 500,000 members and 20,000 customers in the education, government and corporate sectors and making total payments of over $500 million to copyright owner members for new uses of their creative works.

Professor Fraser is the Chairman of the Board of the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN), Chairman of the Australian Copyright Council, Chairman of the Stolen Generations Testimonies Foundation, President of International PEN-Sydney Centre, a Member of the Telephone Information Services Standards Council and a Member of the Steering Committee for the Review of the Telecommunications Consumer Protection (TCP) Code.
